Our Mission

At M.O.S.S. Society (MetaSchool Online Social Services), we are dedicated to providing neurodivergent children, their families, and their allies with a safe and engaging environment where they can interact, build friendships, and have fun. Our mission is to create a welcoming and supportive online community that fosters connections and lasting friendships through the power of Minecraft.

What We Do

We offer Friendship Socials in Minecraft (aka Minecraft Socials), a unique program where children can come together in a safe, structured space to play Minecraft and make friends. Our sessions are facilitated by a game designer and supported by Zoom calls to help participants connect and build relationships.

A New Chapter: Why M.O.S.S.?

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter for our MetaSchool community. As a part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment, we have transitioned the “Minecraft Social” into “Friendship Socials in Minecraft” hosted by our non-profit organization, “M.O.S.S. Society”. This change is rooted in our desire to expand our reach and provide a welcoming space for children to make friends, regardless of whether they are a current student at MetaSchool.

Our decision to start M.O.S.S. Society stems from a deep understanding of the importance of social connections for children. We recognize that friendship and social interaction are vital components of a child’s development, and not every child has access to such opportunities within their immediate environment. By starting a non-profit, we aim to break down barriers and open our virtual doors to more children, offering them a safe and engaging platform where they can connect, collaborate, and build lasting friendships.

In this new structure, our primary focus will be on inclusivity and community building. We will continue to host a variety of engaging events and activities within the Minecraft world, designed to encourage teamwork, creativity, and mutual support among participants. Our non-profit status will enable us to seek donations and grants, which will be reinvested into the community to enhance our offerings and ensure that every child has the opportunity to participate, regardless of their financial background.

We believe that M.O.S.S. Society will significantly enhance the longevity of our Friendship Social program, and allow us to reach a wider audience, ensuring that more children can benefit from the friendships and positive experiences that our platform facilitates. We are excited about this new direction and look forward to building a larger, inclusive community where every child can find a friend and a place to belong!
