What is membership?

If your child plans to participate regularly (more than three Friendship Socials per year), we will require you to sign up and become a member. Membership will not be required for first-time participants, so members are welcome to invite their friends and family to join us!

In order to become a member, you will simply have to submit a completed membership form. Membership is by donation.

Participation by Donation

At the M.O.S.S. Society, we believe in making our programs accessible to everyone. Our services are offered on a “by donation” basis, meaning there is no set fee for participation. We encourage contributions that are comfortable for you, but please know that a donation is not required to join us. Your presence is what matters most, and everyone is welcome, regardless of their ability to donate.

Why should I donate?

As M.O.S.S. is a non-profit, it costs us $21 to $34 per participant per month to run our Friendship Socials. This includes material prep, server up-keep, staffing fees, and additional administration. Our Friendship Socials run off of your donations. By donating, you help allow us to continue running and improving our social programs every month and assist us in continuing to fund this community program for years to come!

Membership Tiers

Supporter (Non-Voting Member)
Monthly ($0 to $42 per month)

Supporters are non-voting members with the following perks:

Exclusive access to our Friendship Socials
Ability to suggest upcoming build themes
Invitation to the annual community discussion meeting where they are able to:
- Propose new ideas and ways to improve our events

Guardian (Sponsor + Voting Member)
Monthly ($42+ per month)

Guardians generously help sponsor a donation for other families and friends that want to participate in our Friendship Meet-ups (but are unable to donate every month due to their financial circumstances). Guardians are full voting members with the following perks:

Exclusive access and priority registration for our Friendship Socials
Ability to suggest upcoming build themes
Invitation to the annual community discussion meeting where they are able to:
- Propose new ideas and ways to improve our events
- Vote upon proposed ideas and changes to MOSS events

Participation Policy

We want everyone to be able to have a good time and make friends during our Friendship Socials, so participants must agree to follow our participation rules (see our Friendship Social registration page). As spaces are limited in these monthly Socials, participation will be based on previous behaviour and attendance. If your child is repeatedly absent from our activities, their space may be offered to another individual on the wait list.
