Who can participate in our Friendship Socials?

Our Friendship Socials are for children and teens (ages 7-19) with different needs, as well as their family, friends, and allies. As we play Minecraft during our Friendship Socials, a current or growing interest in Minecraft is highly recommended!

You must be a member of the MOSS Society to participate in our Friendship Socials, but you are welcome to join as a guest or non-member for your first three Friendship Social registrations.

What setup does my child need to participate in a Friendship Social?

We meet online in a Zoom meeting and play on MOSS’ private Minecraft server. For the best Friendship Social experience, participants must have the following:

  • A tablet or a computer that is capable of running Minecraft’s Bedrock Edition

  • Personal Minecraft Account (Bedrock Edition)

  • Access to Zoom

  • A device with a microphone and video camera for Zoom communication with staff and other participants

  • Mouse (recommended, if using a computer)

If you are unsure if your tablet or computer is compatible with Minecraft’s Bedrock Edition, please refer to Minecraft’s website for a full list of computer system requirements.

Important Note: Our activity server is not compatible the console versions of Minecraft’s Bedrock Edition (i.e. Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation).

When do Friendship Socials run and how can I register?

Our Friendship Socials typically run 1 to 2 times every month during the school year. For upcoming Social dates and registrations, please click here.

How can I help support MOSS and the Friendship Social program?
