What are “Friendship Socials”?
Our Friendship Socials are biweekly online social gatherings for children with different needs as well as their family, friends, and allies! Started in 2020 as a safe place for children (ages 7-19) to meet friends and socialize, Friendship Socials have been bringing kids together for fun Saturday mornings ever since!
Our online social events are held on Zoom and our private Minecraft server. We host our activities in Creative mode and focus our Socials on building LEGO-like creations both individually and as a collaborative group, building alongside friends, volunteers, and staff.
We have staff and volunteers who moderate both the Zoom meeting and the Minecraft in-game activities to ensure that the space is a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
How can my child participate?
You can sign up for our Friendship Socials via the event participation page here. We are asking participants to register at the beginning of each month to help us better coordinate group activities, staff, and volunteers for our upcoming Friendship Socials. Socials run on select Saturdays from 8:30 to 10:00 AM (PT).
Joining our Friendship Social program is free, but membership will be required if you want your child to be a regular, monthly participant (attending more than three times per year).

What setup will my child require?
We meet online in a Zoom meeting and play on our private Minecraft Bedrock Edition server. For the best Friendship Social experience, participants must have the following:
A tablet or a computer that is capable of running Minecraft’s Bedrock Edition
Personal Minecraft Account (Bedrock Edition)
Access to Zoom
A device with a microphone and video camera for Zoom communication with staff and other participants
Mouse (recommended, if using a computer)
If you are unsure if your tablet or computer is compatible with Minecraft’s Bedrock Edition, please refer to Minecraft’s website for a full list of computer system requirements.
Important Note: Our activity server is not compatible the console versions of Minecraft’s Bedrock Edition (i.e. Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation).

Our Friendship Socials run monthly on select Saturdays from 8:45 to 10:00 AM (PST).
